Sunny London Skies

To think it has been nearly 5 months since I moved to London from Australia is astonishing. There has definitely been lots of ups and downs during that time but there has also been a lot of exploring my current home. Having only passed through London a few times previously, I never realised how much there was to find and enjoy in this constantly moving city.

While it’s been a quiet few weeks on the exploration front, there are still a lot of London photos in the archive that tell the story of my first full Summer in the UK.

One thing that struck me when I first moved here was the hours of sunlight London gets in Summer. From rising at 5am and setting at 10pm, the sun does its best to change the rainy London stereotype when it can.

Exploring new areas without rushing has been one of the best parts of the last 5 months. There’s something comforting about learning the tube lines and the individuality of the suburbs that make up Greater London.

The above three photos are some of my favourite photos to date. While, to some, they may seem lonely, to me they tell of peace and quiet, something that is often hard to find in a big city.

London really does make the most of the warmth and the sun while it lasts. Eat an ice-cream in the park or take a stroll in the fading light to enjoy the weather before it turns to the winter grey.

Back alleys, markets and hidden canals. While I may have expected to find the first two hiding in this city, I certainly didn’t expect to find the last one!
