Goodbye 2022, Hello 2023!

First things first, a belated Merry Christmas to all those who celebrate and a Happy New Year. I think I’m still in slight shock that 2022 and the festive season is already over!

Secondly, apologies for disappearing for a few weeks over the Christmas and New Years period. I returned back to Australia for three weeks to spend time with family and friends and decided to take a break from the blog and social media to simply enjoy my time back home.

While I fully intend to get back to writing travel blogs and posting film photos, this blog is going to be a short and simple one to start the year. No travel recommendations or fun stories to recount, just a quick reflection on returning home.

Taking some time away from all this was honestly very restorative and exactly what I needed after a whirlwind of a year. Amid the excitement of moving overseas and enjoying everything London, and by extension Europe, has to offer I had forgotten to stop and properly take stock of everything happening around me. Three weeks back home provided some time to stop and think about everything 2022 taught me and everything still to come in 2023. It was three weeks of spending time with family and friends and remembering what is waiting for me back home but also why I decided to embark on this adventure in the first place.

There are lots of exciting plans coming up for 2023 that I can’t wait to share with everyone, as well as some old blogs from late last year that I have yet to post.

So, as we all slowly get back into the rhythm of regular life, here’s to everything that 2022 provided and to everything that is yet to come in 2023!
