I am not a lover of the cold. It’s no secret that I would much prefer to be surfing the ocean on a warm and sunny day rather than frolicking through a snow filled landscape. Unsurprisingly then, Autumn is not necessarily my favourite season, with its colder days heralding the end of the Summer sun. While the slow descent into Winter is not my favourite thing to experience, it has, however, been nice to witness London during this change; as the days have become shorter and the weather colder and rainier. Below are some of my favourite photos of London in the Autumn months, capturing memories of a city changing.

This was, potentially, one of the nicest Autumn days I have experienced in a long time. The sun was shining, it was actually warm and it felt more like we were moving towards Summer rather than away from it.

Autumn signals a move to a slightly different market experience – the Christmas Market! While this was much too early for the Christmas cheer, there is something magical about walking through a market, warm Mulled Wine in hand.

Important, historical moments seem to be a continuous theme to this adventure. From celebrations to commiserations, London has definitely experienced a period of immense change over the last six months.

Take a camera and walk! If there is one thing I’ve learnt since moving to London, it is to make the most of the sun and good weather while it lasts. It likes to disappear for a bit, the closer you get to Winter.

Sunny days and crisp morning air do make for beautiful Autumn mornings. Enjoy a coffee, take a stroll or simply enjoy a brunch shared with friends and soak up what is left of the good weather.

I’m not sure I will ever truly get tired of exploring this city. There always seems to be somewhere new to see or some beautiful corner to explore.

While we move ever closer to the shorter days and dreary weather of Winter, it’s nice to look back on the Autumn that was. While there have been plenty of cold days and rainy days, there have also been lots of sunny days with a beautiful, soft light to make even me appreciate the beauty of this season. Lets see what adventure comes next for my first full London Winter – wish me luck!
